Meet the Doctors

G. Rick Singh, D.M.D. – Pediatric Dentist

Dr. Singh received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Ottawa in Canada, and his dental degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He completed a general practice residency at the Veteran’s Affairs hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Singh earned his pediatric dental specialty training at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark.

Dr. Singh is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and is a member of the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry and the South Carolina Dental Association. In addition to being on the Perioperative Committee at Lexington Medical Center, Dr. Singh is a Clinical Associate Professor at the Medical University of South Carolina’s Department of Pediatric Dentistry. Wild Smiles, formerly known as Pediatric Dental of Lexington, was founded in January of 1999. He currently resides in Charleston with his wife, Simran, and their sons, Sajan and Krishan.

Kathi R. Sample, D.M.D. – General Dentist

Dr. Kathi earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of South Carolina in Columbia. She completed her dental training at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. She discovered her passion for treating infants, children and adolescents after being an associate dentist in a pediatric dental office three years prior to joining Wild Smiles in November of 2005.

Dr. Kathi is a member of the American Dental Association, South Carolina Dental Association and the Psi Omega dental fraternity. She resides in Lexington with her husband, Chris, son, Kannon and black lab, Scout, and is an avid Gamecocks supporter.

Robert L. Shoun, D.M.D. – Pediatric Dentist

Dr. Shoun attended the College of Charleston, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree from the Medical University of South Carolina, after which he completed a one-year general practice residency at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital in Columbia.

Dr. Shoun was in private practice in West Columbia, South Carolina for four years before entering the pediatric dental residency program at the University of Tennessee in Memphis, where he completed his pediatric dental specialty training. Dr. Shoun is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and is a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the South Carolina Dental Association. He resides in Lexington with his wife, April.
