G. Rick Singh, D.M.D. – Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Singh received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Ottawa in Canada, and his dental degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He completed a general practice residency at the Veteran’s Affairs hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Singh earned his pediatric dental specialty training at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark.
Dr. Singh is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and is a member of the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry and the South Carolina Dental Association. In addition to being on the Perioperative Committee at Lexington Medical Center, Dr. Singh is a Clinical Associate Professor at the Medical University of South Carolina’s Department of Pediatric Dentistry *. Wild Smiles, formerly known as Pediatric Dental of Lexington, was founded in January of 1999. He currently resides in Lexington. He has two sons, Sajan and Krishan.
Kathi R. Sample, D.M.D. – General Dentist
Dr. Kathi earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of South Carolina in Columbia. She completed her dental training at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. She discovered her passion for treating infants, children and adolescents after being an associate dentist in a pediatric dental office three years prior to joining Wild Smiles in November of 2005.
Dr. Kathi is a member of the American Dental Association, South Carolina Dental Association and the Psi Omega dental fraternity. She resides in Lexington with her husband, Chris, son, Kannon and black lab, Scout, and is an avid Gamecocks supporter.
Robert L. Shoun, D.M.D. – Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Shoun attended the College of Charleston, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree from the Medical University of South Carolina, after which he completed a one-year general practice residency at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital in Columbia. Dr. Shoun continues to treat operative cases four times a month at both Palmetto Health Richland Hospital and Lexington Medicial Center.
Dr. Shoun was in private practice in West Columbia, South Carolina for four years before entering the pediatric dental residency program at the University of Tennessee in Memphis, where he completed his pediatric dental specialty training. Dr. Shoun is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the South Carolina Board of Pediatric Dentistry, Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society, and the South Carolina Dental Association. He resides in Lexington with his wife, April.
Luis P. Leite, DMD, MS - Orthodontist
Dr. Leite received his dental degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He is a dual trained Orthodontist and Oral and Maxillofacial Radiologist. He obtained his post-doctoral master’s degree and completed his certification in orthodontics at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY and his certification in oral and maxillofacial radiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, AL.
Dr. Leite has been practicing as a specialist in orthodontics since 2000. He has spent most of his professional life combining clinical practice with orthodontic education and research. He is well published and has lectured on several orthodontic topics nationally and abroad. He is a Professor of Orthodontics at the Medical University of South Carolina *, James B. Edwards College of Dental Medicine, and since 2004 serves as Chairman of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics at MUSC.
Dr. Leite is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, World Federation of Orthodontists, American Dental Education Association, Southern Association of Orthodontists and South Carolina Association of Orthodontist. Most recently he was inducted as a Fellow in the American College of Dentists, whose mission is the advancement of excellence, ethics, professionalism, and leadership in dentistry. Dr. Leite and his wife Renata have two children, Sophia and Nicholas.
